8 of 25“ At this time there is not a way to move your custom locations from SkySafari 5 to SkySafari 6. You will have to manually recreate them in SkySafari 6.
IMPORTANT: After your observing list and settings files are imported into SkySafari 6, they are deleted from the Documents directory because they are now stored in the database. If you add the files to the Documents directory a second time you will get duplicate imports. Duplicates file entries will also result if you add the files to another device that is also synced via the same LiveSky.com account. You need only add the files from SkySafari 5 to SkySafari 6 ONCE, using any one device. The files will then be synced to all your iOS devices using the same LiveSky.com account.”.

I am a software project manager. You would have to be into I.T. and development to understand that this and ability is absolutely ridiculous.

Whoever is telling these people that this cannot be done through programming and development is lying like a RUG. Things like this are extremely easy to do and we do it every day. If I put out with a new release that one released was not able to update from the last user generated files, I would be fired.

Also I have been unable to get any questions answered at all about the app via instructions or forum. Like many other users, I have found that most developers documentation to be absolutely embarrassing. This app does not cease to disappoint. I have a six year old that document this code better. I cannot find out from anyone in the company or that has used the app to answer this question, when I purchase the extra databases, do they update and are transferred to the next Safari release, you know the Safari releases don’t you? Those releases that we have to pay through the nose for every year! This happened to buy a new release every year or so is crazy. It’s no different from the craziness of having to get an Apple phone every couple years. What’s the what is it with you people that you always have to have your hands constantly in our pockets?
I purchased SkySafari Pro 6 a while ago and updates are few and far between. Now that SkySafari pro 7 is out and no upgrade credit for having 6 is available will SkySafari Pro 6 be left in the dust? I hope not, as it wasn’t cheap. There should at least be a discount for having purchased 6 pro.. Goto functionality with my Atlas Pro mount was buggy/unusable for the longest time. They need to respect older versions.
I think 🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹😍😍😍😍😀😀😀w
I thought that this would be good. It is excellent. Easy to use, informative, great graphics. Recognizes the sky with camera with ease. If you like the universe’s night sky and have the $. Buy it. You won’t be disappointed.
I make changes to the settings and most of those changes are not reflected in the chart.
It’s not as useful or user friendly as I had hoped it would be. The fonts are too small to read in the dark, even with my glasses. I read from good sources that said this was the best application of this type. I thought that would be apparent. It wasn’t.
I bought the app SkySafari 6 and downloaded it to my iPhone. Later when I went back to the App Store to download it to my iPad, i noticed the note at the bottom telling me SS6 was an old version and SS7 was now available. THIS WAS THE SAME DAY! When I went over to the SS7 app, expecting to have access to to at least a reduced rate for an update to my BRAND NEW OUT OF DATE APP I was shocked to find that I’m expected to pay even more for 7 than I did for 6.

If this is what it appears to be, it is outrageous. And not only will I NOT buy SS7, I will demand a refund for the obsolete version you sold me.

I will wait patiently for a reply. But not for long!
Immediately represented the sky above me with no set up. I allowed location access and agreed let it set sky to my time and boom. Perfect match with what I see above me. Great identification information.
I can twirl about and hold phone at any angle and it follows in real time. No lag or jumpiness.
I am sure more advanced users can continue to have just as much fun.
