Varlens - DSLR in Phone

Good app. I like the flexibility you have and the amount of editing built in. The only issue is a lot of the time the preview of what I am shooting differs from the final photo so I spend extra time in post. All in all I recommend.

I spent so much time looking for a quality photo app that could do what other video apps do, which is apply filters baked into the image therefore eliminating post processing and making sharing/publishing much faster. Of course you can apply filters in post as well. Also you can import LUTs which should be available on all apps but hardly seen at this moment. This is all free as well. Premium sub gives you nice to haves imo but I would also like to support this team based on the quality you get at the free version. Wish more devs took this approach. Also the cost of premium is not an arm and a leg like other apps that gives you half, if that, upfront for free.

If you don’t have a camera and your a beginner this is the best app for you!!!!!!!!

Update in response to developer:<br/><br/>Still no LIVE photos in 24 megapixels. ProRes is capped at 1080p and not 4K and still there’s no LOG either. I will update the review once these issues are addressed.<br/><br/>Original review:<br/><br/>Please update the app to match what the iPhone 15 Pro Max can shoot in the native iOS camera app. Live Photos in the native iOS camera app shoots at 24MP (in Varlens it’s only 12MP when shooting with Live Photos), and please update it so it can also record Apple ProRes LOG video as well!

How do you remove the Varlens DSLR in phone logo from the bottom of the pic? I am a premium user and don’t want this logo on every pic I take.

Was working great and now photo freezes when on IOS 18.0.1
