8 of 25What is the point of me paying $10 when the .dmg file for Mac linked in the documentation is free? As well as the images UTM is making me use if from internet archive. Pretty upset seeming I paid for this app
It’s working just fine on my MacBook Pro M4
Basic user items generally work making new VMs but more advanced use cases are hit and miss. For example: the VM hdd images are hard coded to the Users/xxx/Library/Containers/UTM/Data/Documents/xxx.utm/data file. If you’re trying to import a .qcow2 image from another system you must save it to this location only. No other location will work. The UI allows you to select any location of the file to import but will not copy the file in to this correct location or run it from the old location. If you manually copy the file over. You can make it work but the UI is completely broken for this type of use case.
Unbelievable buggy. Share folders not working, network works sometimes, app menus become not selectable, right click items in dock … crickets. Must I go on? This is just bad bad and bad. What a JUNK.
We spent several days on this. Created the VM’s yet black screen every time you run any of the VM’s created. Attempted to contact support, yet there is none that we could obtain. Waisted money. Recommend avoiding this product and this company.
This is useful virtualization/emulation software, basically a nice front-end to QEMU. But it helps if you have some technical knowledge for getting the most out of your VMs. Also, skip the Gallery, images there are all outdated. Grab the ARM ISO for your desired OS and install it yourself into a VM for the best experience. The documentation is also a bit outdated.

You won’t be playing AAA games through this, but it’s useful for using general software in Linux, Windows, older Mac OS versions and more.
Doesn’t support ARM Apple Silicon's GPU or Neural Engine, so you're leaving a lot of performance on the table. Get a different VM.
