Its a well done pool app., but at the same time there is nothing revolutionary about the game when compared to other iphone pool games. It seems like EA is always up to something fishy, always strings attached, this time cutting a deal with facebook.
Ok I have a number of pool games for the iPhone and I think are quite good , but this one beats them all hands down. Not only it's easy to learn the controls (yes I am the one with chubby fingers) but also the overall graphics, and the sounds are just great... all I'm missing is a pitcher and a smoke... Wait, the fun doesn't end up here... I can play this on facebook? Are you serious? I am in trouble now, this will eat up all of my time. As is I can't put it down.
I am updating my rating from 1 star to 5 stars. The new version loads and runs just fine on my iPhone 3GS. Thanks to Electronic Arts for the quick fix!
I was a bit hesitant of buying this game, I already had a pool game. Boy am I glad I did buy this game, it beats the pants off my other billiards game. I absolutely love the amateur setting where I can see the path of where the ball will travel and the the paths its hit will take it. Its made me a better 'virtual pool player'. This is really an awesome game and I thank you for bringing it to my iPhone.
This app is ok but I quickly was irritated by the music and sound effects that you can't control well. The graphics are so so and almost worth the 99 cents. It's not realistic so I doubt this is one app I'll keep.
I would say that this is one of the best Pool applications on the iPhone. This and Killer Pool are the best in my view.
I marked it down because there are two features I think need to be added to make it a five start application.
First: I think the leader dots are fun and very helpful. However there needs to be an option to turn them off.
Second, a fine tune control on aiming is needed. Similar to the ball english control, It could be on the left side of it even. This would enable the user to fine tune where they want the target to hit. If the leaders are on then they could see how the fine tune would effect the ball tracking.
Third, Killer pool has an option to see the table from a top side view. I think this needs to be an option here to.
Overall the controls are much better in many ways on this application then Killer Pool.
I love how you can zoom in on your target ball, you cant do that in Killer Pool.
All in all this is a great application. i am glad I bought it. I think I paid 2 dollars for it.
Three stars, add my options and you will be five stars...
Best pool game in the app store. FUN!
