I’ve listened to hundreds of episodes on this app and am shocked that there are any reviews rating this with less than five stars. My experience has been terrific. Your dedication to produce a high quality episode each week and maintain this app are very much appreciated. Thanks for all the hard work!

This app is so crappy that (sadly) it’s making me love This American Life less. The app literally does not function most of the time. It won’t play episodes. Or when I can get it to play an episode, it won’t play when my phone screen is locked, so it just stops when the screen locks. It’s so aggravating! Save yourself the stress and find another way to listen.

No way to play anything on 1.x speed

I love This American Life! I’m struggling with this app. Every time I pause an episode, I need to completely close the app and reopen it for the episode to buffer again. Since I mostly listen when driving, this isn’t ideal.

I downloaded this app with the anticipation of listening to some episodes. When I click on the episodes button, all I get is a warning that the website couldn’t be loaded. Super Lame.

I love the show and i love being able to listen to my favorite old episodes. It only allows the user to listen to about 60% of the episodes. The other 40% I click on and the show comes up visually underdeveloped and then it will not allow me to play the episode. I would definitely give it a 5 if this problem was fixed

.. but can't download new ones for offline listening until they are deleted. And it took me forever to figure out where my saved episodes were when they last redesigned the app. They really could do better here. Why not categorize the episodes, allow a topic search, or anything else that would make browsing for old episodes to listen to easier? But first, fix the broken stuff.<br/><br/>^^ I don’t know when I wrote that. <br/>Update July 2020: I’ve just downloaded the app anew, so it’s definitely up to date, and it crashes and crashes when I try to search. Plus hasn’t saved my previously bookmarked episodes. So I guess we need a way to log in?

Really disappointed to find out that they are no longer supporting this app. As others have suggested, this show should have all episodes on Apple podcast or one of the other free podcast apps. The whole reason anyone bought this app is because the website is impossible to navigate on mobile and most people listen to podcasts on their phones. Not sure why this is the only NPR show that makes it so difficult to listen.
