The back D button really needs to be larger. It is far too narrow vertically.

I've had this app for about an hour now and I just worked out the fingering for Amazing Grace. I can't believe the soulful quality of the sound that you can get out of an iPad! It actually put tears in my wife's eyes...the way the Uilleannn should. You can even bend notes like on the actual instrument.<br/><br/>I'm thinking of buying a real set of Uillean pipes and I'm using this to work out some of the basic fingering. <br/><br/>Absolutely fantastic app!

I listen to Celtic music all the time, and I play piano and the great highland bagpipes. With those credentials, I can tell you that this is a fantastic app. I love the sound of uilleann pipes, and this app excellently reproduces their sound (and is a good deal cheeper than an actual set of pipes) with lots you can do to customize the sound. I can hardly put the iPad down. Thank you Mr. Eskin, I look forward to more of your apps.

This App is great! And I'm a little confused about the change in the interface from the split chanter to the single piece chanter. On the single piece I am not able to access the blue or purple buttons to go to back-D or vibrato. Am I missing something? Did I download an older version of the app? I am running on iOS 5.1.1.

Does not work on my iPad

Michael's apps are always amazing! They very well-planned and thought-out apps that can actually function as a musical instrument. The uilleann (Irish Gaelic for &quot;elbow&quot; - aka &quot;Union&quot;) bagpipes can be reliably dated back well over 200 years. They are a more refined off-shoot of the better-known &quot;piob mhor&quot; - the &quot;big pipe&quot; of old Ireland and Scotland. (aka &quot;Great Highland Bagpipe&quot;). Many people are unaware of the multitude of pipes - over 93 from many lands. The uilleann pipes are arguably the most refined and complex of all pipes. This version emulates the more modern sets, which tend to be tuned to concert D. (Though the older low-pitched &quot;flat&quot; C and B b sets from the earlier days have regained some popularity in modern times. Michael also has a &quot;B&quot; version out now, as well as a set of &quot;regulators&quot; - the keyed pipes that provide harmonic accompaniment on the real uilleann pipes. His version is for the iPhone, and can actually be played in conjunction with the uilleanns on the iPad!) Though a piping background helps, anyone interested in Irish music - or just having a bit of fun - will enjoy these!
