8 of 12When I saw there was an today, I got excited thinking I was going to be able to export my music to my computer or to other apps. That wasn't the case. Just another disappointment. I cannot believe the last update was July 2010 and now almost 3 years later you come out with simple fixes. ??? Wow! What a great way to make such a beautiful app go to waste. Although I don't use it, I am still going to let it sit on my phone in hopes that you come out with meaningful updates that we actually need. Best of luck.
I'm pissed that i rushed into this purchase. This app is really deep with a lot of functions and parameters but it sounds too mechanic too 80's like. I wish there was a PDF manual that would say before the purchase that you cannot record various velocities.
What do I do if I need accent hihat or snare within a pattern? Most of the apps in this class have at least some kind of a "swing or velocity" control.

As the sunvox app this app's controls are optimized for other than iPhone multi-touch device. I smell a lot of "windows like / palm-like controls". They're not too user friendly and reminiscent of controls from 19 century. I installed it on iPad and still have a problem to properly control the tenori-on-like pad interface. (I believe that the demo videos for aurora are also done on iPad)

Enough ranting.... The in-depth functions and flexibility makes this app top in it's class.

Pros:
- excellent transpose control so you can actually pattern-harmonize and create a song
- flexible song creation possibilities
- 3 effect busses whoa! Excellent !!!
- very good automation
- excellent xy real time modifiers

Cons:
- filters "vcf" are all messed up.. 30khz frequency on filters?
- too many unnecessary OK or Select buttons
- too many clicks to get to essential functions
- developers, stop using stylus and start using fingers when testing and optimizing this app for workflow
- I cannot emphasize this more. Get at least 4 levels of velocity buttons when in toggle record mode. You could flip the keyboard view on the bottom with four velocity selector buttons. If needed look at moxmatrix app, the interface is more efficient but tweaking is almost not existent there.
What a $10 disaster! Well I like NanoStudio much better, this here app is to convoluted, here's a suggestion: give option to turn off the "echo visual", I cant see where I'm placing notes! And I don't want scales etc on the top menu, I want easy access to synth and tones and samples! Forget this.
I was hesitant to buy this due to some of the reviews, but after only 15 minutes of playing with it I am very pleased. It is complex- but the layout is intuitive. For ten bucks you won't find anything better.
The one thing that would make it better is a copy to other apps feature.
>>Edit: Well they didn't make it universal. I can live with that but now it's Not compatible with iPad anymore. iOS4 Only!!! WEAK!!! I'm not interested in buying the $40 HD version. Don't buy if you're using an iPad or previous iPhone, iPod Touch iOS, and be sure to make a back up of the previous version if you want to keep using this on the iPad.

This app is pretty deep. Seems like it has everything, Actually more than my little brain can handle for the moment. I'm going to spend the time and learn to work this one. Would love to be able to transfer sounds and samples with the iTunes file sharing system. I'm using this on the iPad and it looks pretty usable at 2X. Couldn't wait for the iPad version :) Maybe they will make it universal? Anyway, this has got to be one of the best music creation apps in app store.
I would like to see more scales(hirajoshi,Arabian, more exotic scales) and way more instruments but overall it's pretty cool
This could have been the best music app in the store if it wasn't for one fatal flaw. The gate is very difficult to manage and needs a lot of work. Also the steps are very small and hard to press with your fingers. Change these two and I would probably give it a 5.
And so much power. Runs perfectly on my 4S with iOS 6. Great built in samples and synths, with the ability to edit every piece of them, plus affects, essentially giving you limitless sounds.

The song building is fun and intuitive, with lots of control. Can't recommend this enough to anyone who's interested in composing.

It's not retina, but that takes nothing away from usability here. Would be nice to see an update to polish that piece up. Other than that, zero complaints.
