Harkens Back to the Classics

by Felix Parochus · December 15, 2011

(Update to update) Man what a labor of love. Devs continue to make the game more and more polished and beautiful. The game world seems more vibrant now. I've already beaten the game but it all seems new to me with the recent tweaks. A+ job guys. I wanna keep playing this one.

(Update) The devs updated the game and I can happily say that the controls are now spot on! I don't know what they did but the game is a joy to play now and responds great! I can whole-heartedly recommend this game and upped my rating to 5 stars. Good job Ben Anderman!

I've been looking for a good platformer on the Appstore for a while now and I can safely say I've finally found one. Frogatto has a little bit of all the good platform games of yore, showing shades of Mario, Rayman, Kirby, Donkey Kong Country, and even a little bit of Metroid! The levels are huge, beautiful, and there's always something to keep your attention. Plus, the dialog is smart and humorous which means I don't cringe when I have to talk to characters in game (I'm looking at you Rare).

Great retro style platformer on iOS.

This game is loaded with detail, has great style, and the new controls make it so much better to handle. If you want a Nintendo experience on iOS, you should get this game.

Awesome game, but kind of short

Don't get me wrong I freakin love this game, it just goes to show that indepindent retro games have found a new home, but it is quite short and I finished it in 2 days. However all I have to say is buy it you won't regret it.

Not playable

Colors are messed up. It's a bug or some thing wrong with ios 7. Menu is white, clocks appear in white blocks of coins. This is America this shouldn't happen

Broken Art

This game is not playable with iOS 7. Lost Pixel is more concerned with getting the game on Steam than they are with keeping it supported on the first platform on which they released it. It says version 1.3 for iOS on their website, but I only see 1.2.

Super Addicting

This is like if Yoshi and Zelda had a baby. Great graphics, sounds, and dialogue. The story is so detailed! Controls are a tad awkward, but most times the game plays out like a true Super Mario platformer, so it's understandable.
