8 of 16This is the best writing app. Together with the Mac version and the Dropbox sync it is a perfekt setup for pro writing.

The only function I miss is a folder/chapter structure. If you work on more than one book the file structure is a challenge.
Hope this comes in an future release.

Thanks mannik
I managed to snag this while it was on a free sale... thank goodness. I thought it would allow me to do some simple text formatting such as bold, italics, etc.: Nope. It handles HTML files. I thought, maybe, it would highlight tags, auto indent, something... Nope again.

What this is is a basic text editor that allows you to integrate with Dropbox and iDisk. I'm not $4.99 impressed when many of the features are available in the free PlainText app. I don't expect it to be a full-fledged word processor but give us something for $4.99.

I will admit the PDF export could come in very handy. Nice touch.

Want to see some of the features that would make this app go from good to great? Check out NotePad++ on the PC. (I am not affiliated with the publishers of NotePad++)
I like the invert color option, but it's a little buggy when loading from Dropbox and not worth $5.
So Dropbox changed their software so I can no longer use any of the upload to dropbox features and the features that should be shown when I tap the curly arrow and a window pops up. . . Well there are no features or options in that window anymore. . . None! What is going on? You really need to update your software pronto so it's compatible with the ipad 4 and the software that people use most often to keep their valuable work secure and available. I want to give you 5 stars because of the great features I have and had. I will sing your praises once you fix this mess! Or contact me and tell me if I'm doing something wrong?
For those used to working with a full-fledged text editor on their desktop, myTexts Pro gives you the same feel and function on the iPad. The web preview and TextExpander support makes this a very functional HTML editor as well. I've used this a lot for blogging+ and hand coding and can say it's very full-featured text editor.

+ desktop version for Mac users
+ serious text editor features like find, replace, word and character count
+ writes .txt, .html and .md file formats
+ import and export to enabled apps directly on your iPad
+ web preview
+ TextExpander support
+ landscape orientation
+ autosave
+ Dropbox sync

- does not export PDFs as emphasized text
- searches file names only not full text
- currently issues with search not finding the correct document
- web preview gets hung up on certain HTML characters
OK, with the latest update this app has become a good and solid solution for the iPad. Add AirPrint and I will give it five stars.
When they say "dropbox support" they mean that you can open files from the dropbox app into myText. There's no integrated dropbox support however.

Cannot recognize text files with non-standard extensions, e.g. c, c++, tex, etc. No option to specify the recognized extensions (as many other text editor apps have).

Tried opening a 700kb .txt file from the dropbox app and myTexts crashed.
For me it is working almost perfect.
First had some problems with the iDisk, but got a response within minutes.
I like the fullscreen and the keyboard.

There is one glitch with the bluetooth keyboard, you have to turn the additions off by hand in the settings. Would be nice if one don't need to do that.

Otherwise, keep up the good work.
