StepPolyArp - Midi Step Polyphonic Arpeggiator

Buying advice: absolutely recommended, especially now with Audiobus support.<br/><br/>I just got this app yesterday.<br/><br/>I had wanted a dedicated arpeggiated or app for a while, but was not sure which one to get. Had heard &amp; read good things about arpeggionome, notably from Chip Boaz of the &quot;iOS Music &amp; You&quot;, &amp; Jordan Rudess who is both a trusted source and a friend. Based on both reviews, the app description, and what I thought I would need, this one seemed best for now.<br/><br/>So although it seemed a little pricier than what I had originally wanted to spend, it seemed like it was worth the money.<br/><br/>Well after using it for a couple of hours yesterday, I realized I was right:<br/><br/>A great UI, lots of flexibility, great MIDI support, tons of presets, easy to change on-the -fly, and a lot more. Just what I was looking for.<br/><br/>There was one thing missing though: Audiobus support (which arpeggionome also doesn't have... Yet. I expect it will do soon).<br/><br/>I was using it with some Audiobus-ready apps, and missed being able to just use this app from the Audiobus tab, rather than having to go back and forth using the multitasking bar. Interrupts the work flow.<br/><br/>And I thought, &quot;If only this app was &quot;On the Bus&quot;, it would be perfect.<br/><br/>Then, about five hours later, I looked in my updates, and lo and behold: there's this same app, which I had just purchased the same day, updated, to now include Audiobus!<br/><br/>How cool is that?!<br/><br/>I would've already given it an easy four stars when I first started using it. Now with Audiobus support: 5 stars plus!<br/><br/>The only thing I have to compare this app with, is the arpeggiator functions that are in existing synthesizer apps. Addictive Synth has one of the best of those that I have tried.<br/> <br/>But an app like this is in a whole 'nother league. Based on the reports I have cited and have read, I assume that Arpeggionome is in that same league. <br/><br/>However, until it also gets &quot;On the Bus&quot;, this is the one to get.

Steppolyarp is completely virtual midi in and out compatible with other apps and has great automation. It ends up making any kind of midi programming a breeze :) Thanks for Audiobus support for the internal sounds!

If you want to sequence your own stuff in an intuitive, fun way, then StepPolyArp should definitely be on your radar.

This is be all end all for arp construction apps. Great GUI, stable and—most important—it's a helluva lot of fun. Love it.

Seriously, what's not to like? Arpeggiators and step sequencers are powerful tools and can be difficult to wrap your head around (my head, anyway), but I've found this one approachable, understandable, and immediately useful.

The dog's pajamas and the cat's harmonica. If you think this might be for you then it most certainly is. I have a number of MIDI apps which I don't use because i don't really understand them, this one is clever, creative, but also easy enough for this fool to forget about the computer science and just get on with the music....

Not just an arp but shines as a basic step sequencer with timeline<br/><br/>Make a sequence in any key or scale then you can run the sequence in different chords<br/><br/>Perfect for taking midi sync /clock from dm1 app and adding melodies over the drum machine app with hardware or software synths controlled by steppolyarp<br/><br/>I use the hosa USB to midi interface to send midi notes OUT to hardware and the IN to send chord and note changes to steppolyarp<br/><br/>Works great! no latency issues with wired midi. Only downer is hanging midi notes sometimes and no PANIC! Button that I know of? Oddly notes on hardware only hang when playing keys on the touch screen not when you use a midi hardware controller as a IN<br/>Update?...
