8 of 25The app isn't perfect and could use some minor tweaks and improvements but I've now played over 20 games and I can't believe how much fun this game is. It wouldn't be as much fun if the app didn't work at least well enough to make game play smooth and logical. Great job developers, but please continue to make small adjustments and improvements.
I play this on an old iPod touch and have no complaints with the graphics or interface.
The app looks nice and runs well. I haven't had any issues with crashing. However, there are a couple issues. First and most importantly, there is almost no way that the tiles come out in a truly random manner. There have been many games that I have played where the last 8-10 tiles to come out are all Ra tiles. In theory, this is a possibility but the fact that it has happened in Several games makes it apparent that there are issues with randomization. This has never happened to me when I have played on the table yet it seems to happen in 15-20% of the games on the app. This really ruins the game in many ways because it makes the last round largely pointless and annoying to sit through.

The second issue is that the AI can be a little slow making turns relative to other games I have played on my iPad. Even with the graphics on the fastest level, it is not particularly fast. This can be annoying - especially during the afore-mentioned scenario where you have to sit through 8-10 consecutive Ra tiles being drawn followed by a round of passing each time.
The only great thing about this app is getting to play RA on my phone. That’s pretty much it.

Other than that it's just… bad.

The graphics are lack luster at best. Using a thin Papyrus font over everything is difficult to read and looks sloppy. The game ‘board’ barely reaches the edge of my screen and the font just spills off the edge. The tiles (which are the cleanest graphics of the entire game) don’t even match up with the board. I have to assume the game was designed for the iPhone 4 and never updated afterward and it’s trying to fill out the 5,6 and now 7 screens to terrible result.
I would suggest cleaning it up and get it back to the original board game's bright clean look or update it to capture the realistic tactile look of the new printing along with getting it to resize it’s self appropriately to whichever device it’s on.

Also the music is repetitive and dull. At least let the music last through a few turns before repeating. Also most of the "effects” such as the hole in the sand opening to swallow tiles and the "invoking RA' whirlwind is cheesy and slows the pace of the game down so I just leave them turned off.

This is a great board game. One of the best out there. It deserves better.
Ra is one of my all time favorite euro games and one of the first I ever learned. This is a fine adaptation that captures the original well, except for some poor choices in terms of making a player seem to need to bid in situations where the player can opt to pass. This is a nuance but may mislead newer players.
From random crashes on iPad to not at all random tile draws on the iPhone, this game is often unplayable.
Layout is great. Fast moving game.
Personally, board games have usually equated to "bored games", but not this one. The rules are deceptively simple. At first glance it appears more difficult than it is. But I really like this game. If you're considering purchasing this I highly recommend that you do.
