Great app that delivers a great user experience... Except the music won't stop! You can't turn it off and it just keeps playing while you are trying to read. Very annoying. If that were fixed it would give it a higher rating.

I suspect most people who are rating this book highly are looking at it's presentation and photos: both of which are good. However the text is down right awful. Partial sentences, incomplete thoughts, jumbled words. Beyond the introduction its basically unreadable. If you want to see visually what a good book is like, this is good. But do NOT plan to actually read it.

3yrs old, no revisions, typos go uncorrected and my iPad the app starts its splash page with a horizontal graphic but the book displays in the vertical view preventing iPad users from viewing 1/2 of each page?<br/>3 years??<br/>Whats the matter Gameloft???<br/>Not enough cash in it for you????<br/>Would a couple of simple fixes to heavily impact your Christmas bonus?????

I want to reinforce a couple of the other reviewers: 5 stars because I think that this will ultimately be a fabulous app after the authors clean up the sloppy proofreading and add a couple of key features: 1) sound/music on/off toggle and 2) toggle for pulsing icons (which I find particularly distracting when reading the text).<br/><br/>FWIW, I wouldn't mind a similar treatment of the European theater once this app is cleaned up..

The best book. So many photos, and documents.

Dale Dye is the guy from HBOand I think he did a very good job here also. Well done story about Pearl Harbor.

This is an interesting concept and could have been so much more with a little effort. A very condensed history at best and a comic book at worst.

War in the Pacific offers a fantastic visual reference of the subject matter, however the app is not without it's shortcomings. First, the developer needs to issue an update that allows users to either turn off the annoyingly repetitive musical track completely or at the very least, lower it's volume. Secondly, I find some of the text to be quite tiny, rendering it almost unreadable, and I'm a user with near perfect vision! Adding zoom throughout would be a great addition. And finally, a thorough edit/proof reading pass on text would be welcomed. In its current form much of the text is peppered with grammatical errors, misspellings and incomplete thoughts. This could easily be a five star app with the proper upgrades and fixes.
