Phenomenal game!

by &E (Andy) C. · April 23, 2011

I'd quickly like to address the review before mine: I haven't lost a battle yet and the game hasn't crashed on me once.

Right, well World to Conquer is an incredibly addicting experience. It's a strategy game that truly stands among the best of the genre. Seriously, I have no problem comparing it favorably to games like FF Tactics and others.

The writer definitely had an ear for dialogue, which is refreshing for this genre, and the tile-based gameplay has everything going for it that you could expect.

There is a very unique twist that makes every turn feel vitally important: every battle consists of multiple skirmishes. After the initial tutorial fight, the player must think very carefully about his moves because he won't be getting any reinforcements for the remaining skirmishes of that chapter. So be careful with your archers, losing them is like losing a queen in chess.

The game almost feels like a board game brought to animated life. Its complex at it's core, yet easy to pick up. The artwork is well done, and character models look sharp (that's one of a couple ways that this game actually trumps others of this type). The music, likewise is very fitting and enjoyable.

You can tell that this indie development team went at this project with passion. It definitely shows. Easily worth five stars, and far more valuable than a measly four bucks. I got this game with a promo code, but liked it so much I bought it anyway just to support the devs and so I could write this review. I'm very much looking forward to the next game by Easy 8.

Perfect!

What a perfect game for the iPhone! Campaign mode allows you to play in small bits, constant developer support makes a great game better! Artwork is stunning. Swords and Archers = tons of fun. Run don't walk to get this game!

Fun

My fav app

Not happy

This game has the potential to be good, but the game itself is too slow. It takes forever to win a match and after 3 battles it was just too boring. The idea behind this game is interesting, but it isn't put to it's full potential. I do not believe this game was worth $3.99

Great Game but bug crash

Great game but needs more units! and also game crashes when you win a battle it just takes you back to main screen

A very dull experience

I wanted to love it, but I constantly had to push myself to even keep playing. There is no way to compare this to any good tactics game today. No positioning, no elevation, no loot, no progression/experience, boring classes, to slow to get going, no meta game of any kind. There just isn't much here. The interface is obnoxious (why even show two buttons if I can only use one??), and everything is slow. The graphics are nice (not retina from what I can tell), but ultimately I feel I wasted my money.
