Quotebook — Notebook for Quotes

Great app. I have my fav quotes stored in here 😎 Been using it for a few years now I think at least.<br/><br/>Don't listen to the other reviews. <br/>After I updated the app it did take a minute for then to come back from iCloud. I think the people that lost their quotes didn't have iCloud syncing turned on within the app to keep it backed up so make sure you have iCloud enabled to back it up. Also there is a feature in the app to manually backup or restore. Just email yourself the backup from the app so if needed you can import that file if needed. I back my quotes up this way at least once a month.

Love the easy input and the fact that it knows whenever I have copied a quote. However, would like to be able to have one of my quotes sent to Twitter or Facebook each day for me.

Broken sync makes the app almost useless

Doesn't support iOS 9 features. Doesn't support database export.

I also had issues with the latest version, with quotes not syncing or disappearing entirely. According to the developer they’ve been seeing an uptick in issues caused by some bugs Apple shipped in iOS9. They’re looking into it, but don’t have a fix yet. Suggested turning sync off, but click the iCloud sync button does nothing in the app, it’s permanently on.<br/><br/>Here’s how I fixed sync between the devices:<br/>I went to my iPad which had the most complete library of quotes that wasn’t broken. I exported both a quotebook backup and csv backup and e-mailed them to myself. I then deleted both apps from my iOS devices. On my computer I went to iCloud &gt; Manage &gt; and deleted the quotebook data from iCloud. Wait 5 minutes for iCloud sync stuff to happen. Maybe restart your devices while you’re at it and make sure any quotebook data gets trashed. Re-install quotebook on one of your devices and then open your quotebook backup from email and it’ll import everything back into quotebook. Let it sync a bit. Install app on other device and confirm that things sync down. Make a change and make sure it syncs across devices. Nice! The old “unplug it and plug it back in” trick. Works every time! Sync seems to be reliably and quick compared to my previous experience, so far so good.

After a rough start, this settled down into a nice app that synced well. Then version 3 happened, breaking everything, then it was more or less abandoned. Pity.

I'm really glad I found this app. I've been looking for a quote organizer, and this is a decent quote app. But for the price that we pay for this app, it should not be merely decent, but outstanding, and it is not. <br/><br/>Suggestions:<br/><br/>1) Have tags within tags. The current method is messy and it makes finding quotes difficult. I use varying sources--books (I even separate these by genre), films, online long form articles, authors, etc.., and just clicking on a &quot;book&quot; tag and having quotes with that tag just appear doesn't make sense. Instead, it would be more organized and cleaner if I could instead do this: Tag &gt; &quot;Books&quot; &gt; *names of authors or book titles* (give us an option to view by either title or author) &gt; *select either title or author* &gt; *have quotes belonging to this appear*. This would work with the film tag and any other tag we have. This just makes so much more sense. It's so frustrating having all of the quotes appear without being able to narrow them down further by the above method. Like in the &quot;Sources&quot; section, there is no way to separate all of the different sources; everything is clumped together in a list. Confusing and frustrating. Please, please, please implement these changes. <br/><br/>2) Have a night mode. <br/><br/>3) Have a section for favorited quotes. <br/><br/>4 ) Have the option to arrange the tags whichever order we want to.<br/><br/>5) Have the option to add a personal note to a quote.<br/><br/>I really like this app, but for the price I paid, this app is highly lacking, so please make the app outstanding. :(

If you read a lot there is no better app out there that will help you keep track of your quotes. Easy to use, simple, quick, and you can even search for duplicates if you recorded a quote more than once. You can also look up quotes by author or book name. Love it.
