8 of 25The economist app is the best one i have for any of my journals or periodicals, period!!! The audio is fantastic, the download is fast, so many thoughtful details work to enhance the experience. Congratulations
The selection of an article, to start, to pause, to rewind 15 seconds are not easy or possible. You need to create a playlist which takes too much time and it is messy if you move from one edition to another. It is not possible to see the text while you are driving. It is not a fire and forget type easy listening anymore. You need to hold it in your hand all the time to control what to do.<br/><br/>They need to return back to previous version.
Take a fully functioning app and make it less user friendly and less functional? Remove the ability to download quickly, remove the section breaks in audio queue, and add levels of unnecessary options. Seriously, why would they do this? Can we go back to the last version?
I’ve been using the Economist app to listen to an audio version of the articles for a few years now, and it worked very well. This week, my Economist app mysteriously turned into the Legacy version of the economist app, and the audio player has been greatly changed for the worse. I can’t make any sense out of it and don’t even want to use it. Why was this change made? How is it an improvement? Please leave things alone that work. I’m going to download a new Ecomomist App, which I hope will work like my old app used to.
You can do a lot better
Previous version was so much easier and more practical to select articles for audio. Also controls now taken away e.g. to go to the next article from lock screen, iwatch, control center - have to go back into app then audio menu. Really awful user design - especially as the earlier version had none of these issues. Absurd
I’m deleting everything again. Why can’t we get a working app that can listen to the weekly edition on a iPhone 11pro max without it crashing. <br/>Hopefully the old Economist app still works but it was spotty also and probably why they switched. <br/>The worst pet is as soon as a track messes up and fails to play you can’t just delete and redownload. It’s not like I pay 250$ usd for the audio and print edition and would like to enjoy it.
For the price this is unacceptable!
