Frequent Problems

by MeowBach · December 23, 2014

The Core Synth is a good idea, a cheap and simple subtractive synthesizer for your ipad. Unfortunately the app crashed frequently and rarely produced sound. The biggest problem was the lack of sound really.

Easy Peasy

Mike, new patches are added to the end of the list, they don't overwrite previous patches. And have you tried moving your finger further away from the dial to make micro adjustments?

Useless

Worth every penny I paid for it.

No Sound

This app worked fine until one day it had no sound. I updated with no luck. Still no sound. Either fix it or give me my $1.99 back.

Just Crashes

App will open for half a second then crash. So for me useless. Bummed.

Just like all the others

No midi in/out and sounds genaric just like all the other Allen Porter based synths out there...want the exact same sounds for free? Just search around for any free synth bassed off the same source code from Allen Porter...nobody seems to change anything but the GUI so they all sound the same.

Must Fix Osc Octave Text!!!

by _DanielFisher_ · November 6, 2011

First off, it's a very useful teaching tool. A very simple visual layout of the basic tools needed for subtractive synthesis. Novice synth explorers can get comfortable quickly.

But... The numbering system for the Oscillator Octaves is backwards. 16' is supposed to be the Lowest Octave and 1' should be the Highest Octave. (On a real pipe organ,a 16' pipe is much lower in pitch than a 1' pipe. That's where these values came from.)

No sound

Does not actually make any sound. This is on an iPad 2, and everything else is working just fine. Also volume button when in the application appears to be a complete no-op.
