8 of 25Used to love this app and have used it for years, but I will not be paying money to use the same app that used to be free. There are other ways to silence my phone. I don’t need to pay for an app to do it.
I can silence my phone manually for 2 dollars per month.
I have used this app for years to silence my phone at work and other places I frequently visit. It always works. The new interface is great.
I will never pay twice for an app that I already paid for! Developers should look at the history of a company called Waves a music plugin developer. They tried to do the same scam and had to reverse the decision because of losing SO many customers. <br/><br/>No need to leave your canned reply that does not soften the blow for all the people that already paid once. Every complaint has nothing to do with being unsatisfied with the app......all has to do with being ripped off!
—updated comments— This app was a very useful background running app for such a long time for me, but when it stopped working. I opened it up only to discover it has gone to subscription only. :( <br/><br/> Why would i subscribe to something that I already paid for, and which hasn’t significantly updated features, design, or function since I bought it 9 years ago?<br/><br/> —original review—<br/> This is a great little “set it and forget it” app. 4 stars instead of 5 because the instructions are a little difficult to understand, and the design isn’t great. Once I figured out what I wanted it works in the background. I put the !silent code in the notes of variable calendar events, chose the times and locations of recurring events, and use the timer function for spontaneous stuff. I’m not interrupted by calls or texts during classes, lessons, religious services, movies, or meetings. And I don’t have to remember to turn things back on when the event is done (which is the main benefit for me!).
I’ve been using app for years and it met my needs. I liked it so I paid for it. Now the developer has decided to start charging a monthly subscription fee for an app I already paid for. So I either succumb to his extortion or stop using an app I paid for. I wasn’t given a choice about updating. The app updated automatically and there’s no way to roll back to a previous version. I very disappointed in the decision the developer made to change this app. I did send feedback to the developer and got no response so I am leaving my honest review.
A very nice app and I liked the scheduled silence for recurring meetings and church. That being said, it’s not worth $2 a month to silence my phone. I pay for too many things already. I understand the developer wants to make some money. Just not going to pay for an app like this.
I have used this app for years... and paid for it NOW they want $24 per year for it? With the "update" I just saw today. No way!<br/><br/>Adffdendutm 7-29-23<br/>Someone needs to tell the developer that his "boiler plate" replies are not working <br/><br/>Someone needs to tell the developer that it is not the APP that people are dissatisfied with but rather the new pricing scheme - especially those of us who paid for the app previously<br/><br/>Someone needs to tell the developer that he will probably lose more than he gains
