8 of 15I downloaded this recently and everytime I open it it would keep crashing
but doesn’t feel even remotely the same without all the dialogue :(
This is still a fun game and I love the original music. Why are there no voices though?!?
First off some of the voices aren’t there, second, it’s almost impossible to do the brake boost when you switch from reverse to drive, and third, the ads are kinda annoying. Yes I understand there needs to be ads because it’s a free game but nonetheless I hope this game gets updated for easier gameplay.
So the game itself is amazing obviously, I feel like everybody knows that by now. But for the mobile port itself, it’s… fine. You can tell that this version of the game originates from the iPhone 4S era. For example, I’ve noticed the audio for voice lines will decrease for seemingly no reason at random. One day you’ll hear the announcer and pedestrians, and another day they’re mute. With no option to change this in-game, and no config file fix I can find, the only solution I can think of is wiping the game off your device and reinstalling. Controls are questionable as well, as they retain the analog-to-digital conversion issues every official Sega Dreamcast port seems to have. Turning is far too sensitive and conflicts with my muscle memory of the GameCube version. I would have personally liked to have seen something similar to hill top racing, where there’s a steering wheel in the corner for analog movement. These various faults don’t detract from the game too much, it’s not like this is GBA levels of bad or anything. Overall, it’s fine. Would like a Mac port though…
This game is just like the original back from 1999. The only thing that’s missing are the voices of the announcer and the characters including the customers when you are taking them to your destination. I’m guessing it might be a bug but I sincerely hope it gets fixed to maximize the original Crazy Taxi experience!
Game runs pretty well. Graphics look good. But what happened to all the voices? I loved hearing all the lines from the announcer, to the cab drivers, and all the customer you pick up. Seems lifeless now without anyone talking. Just hearing “taxi” being yelled while driving around is not it. Otherwise all game modes are here. Still as fun as I remember and the original song is on this version which it was replaced on the Xbox port so at least that is here!
greatest game I’ve ever played
