8 of 15First, DO NOT buy if you are running iOS 11, it will not work (one reason I am sticking with 10.3.3 on my devices).
This was the one Cave game I was missing until recently because I did mot have an iPhone or compatible iPad. It is very different from the others in that it tries to be a simulator with progression similar to the Darius games (see Dariusburst SP in the store) and you can eventually have a total of 5 ships instead of 2-3. The graphics & sound are nowhere as good as the other games, nor is the gameplay. Not a terrible game but only worth it for Cave fans/collectors. Buy the other ones first.
Also, the game CAN be played on iPod 5 & 6, but you first have to buy it on an iPhone then try downloading it from the App Store until it works in spite of the "not compatible" message. I bought this on my iPhone SE and was then able to download and play it on my iPod 6 with no problems (the game does not need internet)
Happy to report this classic title can work on modern hardware in the latest update. Godspeed CAVE devs.
Excellent game. So glad it got updated for the new iOS. Cave’s games were so good I actually have an iPad 2 with an old iOS just to play these games. Instant buy. Really hoping Cave will start releasing or rereleasing their catalog because it’s truly outstanding.
Bullets. Everywhere.
Ketsui please ~
This was just supposed to hold me over until they ported DEATHSMILES 2, but it's so fricken brilliant. Cave's games are the best thing to happen to iOS ever.
This is the first mobile game that I actually enjoy. The control and hit detection are picture perfect, and the game has just the right difficulty. My only complaint is minor, and is related to the visual style. All the backgrounds share a wire-frame aesthetic, and as such all look alike. The same can be said for the enemies, which can also blend into the backgrounds. Aside from those minor complaints, this is a great shooter to play on the go.
Absolutely magnificent portable shmup from the undisputed masters of the genre, Cave.

Using the Tiger Schwert from Ketsui in a DoDonPachi game has never been so fun.
