Weathershot : weather camera

I am deleting the WeatherShot app after years of being a member. The earliest picture I could find in my storage using the app was 2014, and I’ve been a paid member since that option came out. <br/><br/>I used the same overlay style 99.5% of the time, sometimes posted pics to the community but mostly shared them with my family, on my Instagram, or used them on my MapMyRun cover photos. I enjoyed the badges but they weren’t a huge motivation for me. <br/><br/>When the price increase recently came up, I decided that, to me, $40 a year was just too much. I thought I’d stay on as free user, though, and maybe re-evaluate after a while.<br/><br/>Today, I went in to take an evening photo. First screen, that annoying “join and pay!” screen. Okay, that’s fine, I knew I’d see that kind of thing if I let my subscription lapse. <br/><br/>But then…that ONE overlay that I use, pretty much the ONLY one I use? Available only to members. <br/><br/>My heart broke a little bit as I stood there on my walk, contemplating if that one overlay was worth $40 a year, when I don’t really utilize any of the other paid features. <br/><br/>And my conclusion was…No. <br/><br/>I don’t usually write reviews, and I was tempted to just delete the app quietly and move on, but since I’ve been with you for so long, I thought it was only fair to let you know why I’m leaving. <br/><br/>Thank you for a great app, but the cost is just too much for me. You might consider tiers of subscription, perhaps. I would have gladly kept on paying $20 annually for say, “use the ten most popular overlays” without getting all the other perks. <br/><br/>So, WeatherShot, I supported you for a good long time, but now it’s time to part ways. Best of luck to you going forward, and I hope that those who do use more aspects of the app, the stickers and community and so forth that I never really got into, will continue to support your efforts.

Long time user here until 2 years ago. This was an awesome app to travel with and I kept promoting it to friends. Then one day it suddenly not letting me to get past their promo page. Like other reviewer said, the X to close out the popup does not work at all. Tried clicking “restore purchases” and also reinstalled the app. Nothing worked. Left the app there and tried again months later. Again. And again. Maybe it’s time to fully delete the app.<br/><br/>Giving it a two star because it WAS a great app and a great travel buddy. Sad to see it going downhill.

Used to be worth it before price skyrocketed and became a subscription model. <br/><br/>Will reassess in the future if pricing becomes more reasonable.

I will NEVER subscribe to anything. $10 a month is insane. Forget it.

When opening the app you have to wait til the subscription ad disappears before you can do anything in the app. Then once in the free version only give one option. Not worth it.

Was reinstalling this app, then saw the rude comments from the developer here in reviews—-so deleted it again.

When it works this is a wonderful app, but they charge premium price for an app that is very buggy &amp; they are slow to support. Multi-location weather skins don’t work. My paid subscription stops working after a month EVERY YEAR &amp; customer service is VERY slow to do anything about it. Had to get a refund from Apple, then reinstall and pay AGAIN. Will give this 5 stars if they ever fix it. For now, it’s $40 down the drain.

I had WeatherShot Pro and now they’ve “updated” and they’re begging me for an annual subscription. No.
