MyWords - Spanish

This programm load words from Internet!!! I knew about it after loading! This programm works like browser!

This program attempts to download the word set from the internet every time you start it. This makes it very slow to start up and moreover it doesn't save the previously downloaded set, which means that you can't use it on a subway journey. This makes it useless for me. What a waste of 10 bucks.

It's nice to have new words every day, but I want to memorize more than 10 if I'm going to learn Spanish. I'd also like to see an option for different levels of difficulty.<br/><br/>Also, it would be nice if the word bank worked like flashcards or at least quized you in some way instead of just showing the answer.<br/><br/>Hopefully they will read this and make some updates!

Ten bucks is a little steep for this app, but it does what it promises. Earlier I had trouble with the app not loading, but that is not an issue now.

10 words a day isn't a whole sure, but after a month that's over 300 words that you should be able to get down. 3000 words in a year down pat will leave you pretty proficient in Spanish. And yes, you could probably do something like this on your own as it's fairly simple, but that's the whole point of the app is that it gets you going with learning vocab.

I bought this app because I thought it would help me rebuild/ add to my Spanish vocabulary. I am familiar with many words in Spanish, so I began to realize that some of the words did not have proper definitions. Ex. Causita does not equal buddy, pale, my man. In addition, some of the Spanish words are spelled wrong. Ex. cilantro in Spanish is cilantro, but the program spells it culantro. If you don't know the language, you would be inclined to take the program for its word. I find myself having to double check many words in a dictionary or online, which defeats the purpose of owning this app. The idea for the app is good, but since it is a language app and it has flaws in providing accurate information, I would look somewhere else. If you do decide to buy it, if a word does not look right double check it, but for someone just learning the language, this will prove difficult to catch. <br/><br/>Apart from the flawed data, I also wish the program had a way to see just the English word in a flash card mode. When side by side with limited options, it's way to easy to filter out the correct word. <br/><br/>If anything changes in the product, I ill be sure to update.

I just bought the program and went through my first round of 10 words. I was a little disappointed that the iPod touch could not hear me, so I cannot use the record feature to compare my accent to the speakers. While I don't think this will teach me to speak Spanish, I do think I will be of great assistance to have a background of words once I get into Spanish class. I am thinking of taking Innovative's on-line Spanish class that goes with this app, but the cost, even with the 50% off from buying the app, makes me hesitate. I am going to use my 15-minute breaks at work to run the program. We'll see how effective it is on my memory. Update: After using the app for a few days, I find it disappointing. While one can get 10 new word per day and use the game feature to match words with definitions, you then have to chose to store these words or they are deleted. The stored words are not available for use in the game/learning mode. You can only play with the new words. This is a problem, as reinforcement of the stored words is just as necessary as learning new words. The system should be more like BYKI flashcards. All in all, I am not happy with having spent $10 on this app.
