Pocket3 - Japanese

I'm kinda baffled why this got bad reviews. I have an iPhone 4s and it works great. There are sooo many lessons with detailed explanations and Japanese that people really use. I've lived in Japan for 6 years and I think I can say this is the best app I've used to date. There's still a lot to be said for classroom study but if you can get a class for $0.60 apiece I'd be really surprised. What's $0.60 anyways? I can't even take the bus for that amount.

Info you should know this app isn't free but you do get around 30 free Lessons these lessons are all extremely helpfully I have spent 10 dollars on this app and I don't regret it

If you are a subscriber to Japanesepod101, there is no way for you to link your account to the iPhone application. This is a shame, and shows that Innovative has no plans to give subscribers flexibility in getting their lessons while they are on the go. They use flash on their web site for the lessons making accessing your account and lessons on the go almost impossible on the iPhone or iPod Touch. With this app, you get the privilege of paying for the lesson again on top of the subscription paid. <br/><br/>Before buying this application, I would recommending going to Japansepod101 and trying out for their trial on the actual web site. You will get to sample how the podcast sound, their lessons, and other areas of the website. It will give you an idea of how the application may operate.

First off, this isn't actually free. You have to buy each &quot;lesson&quot; (podcast really). Each lessons costs one credit. One credit costs $0.99. Twenty-five credits is $15 ($0.60 per credit).<br/><br/>The first thing they do when you start the app (after the absurdly long loading time) is present you with a ad for their website.<br/><br/>For that 1 credit gets you a pretty short lesson, around 10-15minutes. About a minute of that is trying to up-sell you.<br/><br/>Downloading the lessons over wifi takes around three minutes, I don't even want to try to imagine how long it would take over 3G.<br/><br/>I don't recommend this. These 10 minute or so &quot;lessons&quot; (even at the low price of $0.60) are not worth it. You'd be better off studying from a combination of textbooks and free online resources.
