I don't have the multitasking thing so when my iPod is slow I use this app...<br/>It makes other apps load faster and sometimes safari works faster too..

I have a suspicion this app does absolutely nothing. That's my guess. Might be possible I'm wrong but..<br/>For a dollar though .. I can deal.

I figured it would help my phone from crashing all the time but now the app crashes as well. The app doesn't seem to do what it says it does. Waste of money.

It would be nice to have the option to choose if you'd like to free the memory or not. It would certainly clear up the confusion that the simpletons are experiencing. (&quot;duh, why'd my pandora stop?&quot;) <br/>Other than that, it works well enough. <br/>If you'd like to know something that works better, open this app, then open your multitask menu and close all other apps. Your free memory will skyrocket.

For instance, the review from &quot;mettur&quot; below has to be the funniest review I have ever read. LOL the name of the app is &quot;Free Memory&quot; ...the whole *point* of the app is to *Free* memory by closing down background applications! (It is analogous to closing down every running program on a computer in order to free RAM for other use...)<br/><br/>Concerning the review saying the last one (MemoryInfo) worked better: I had that app throughout its history (before the specific button to free memory was even pulled! [Apple is to blame on that one btw.]) This version seems to work better - the issue is that iOS 4.0.x itself is not as forgiving about allowing processes to be killed than 3.x or earlier versions of the OS. Just the very nature of multiple apps running at once implies much more memory use in the first place. (So again, this is on Apple's side.)<br/><br/>I have a question though: Since installing iOS 4 on my 3GS almost everytime I open this I have almost *NO* free memory! (It often shows less than 3MB of memory left at first...that's right, *3* MB!) This makes sense since with multitasking almost nothing truly closes and removes itself from memory. However, even after exhaustive searching, I cannot find anyone else with this issue. If this is true, then how can this operating system properly work without running an app like this continuously or without restarting the iPhone all the time. Other 3GS owners say their phones are faster since iOS 4...mine is DEFINITELY much slower because of this. Is there something wrong with my installation or am I missing something? (I would HATE my PC if it were so difficult to close anything on the bottom taskbar...It is like the Home Button just Minimizes the current app. (Hitting Home twice brings up every single app I have run since the past reboot - dozens and dozens of them!)<br/><br/>[To the more techy people - I assume that when in that low-memory state I am now working in Virtual Memory (the SLOW speed seems to imply this) but why isn't anyone else complaining about this?]<br/><br/>Regardless, I hope this review is helpful. Does not work on iOS 3.2

In the past I could &quot;free&quot; the memory simply by pressing a button and the results were very obvious. Now whatever number the app opens up to stays there and after a while the memory available does increase but just a little, not significantly. <br/>The &quot;automatic&quot; feature is not as automatic as it's supposed to be. <br/><br/>I don't get it. The original version was very popular, why change something people liked?? <br/><br/>People, including me, like being in control.
