Controls block the screen!

by Lleo11 · December 31, 2013

I'm not gunna lie, I'm loving this game but.. Will you please make the controls more see through. It makes it hard to spot the caves when they pop up or bad guys or even yourself at times. And it's kinda dumb to have the controls completely cover where it tells you how much power bars you have left.. Will change to 5 stars with a new update fixing controls. THANK YOU!!!

Horrible Controls

I could not stand the horrible controls.

Great game! Could you guys revert back to the old icon, the new one looks incredibly cheap :(

A blast from the past

When I saw this was ported to the iphone from the old Sega Master System I was excited. I picked it up as soon as I saw it. The actual port is decent, albeit the spawn rate of monsters was tweaked to be lower which made the game slightly more of a grind when I needed money. That is my only complaint though. And for clarification for those reading other reviews, this is not an original DotEmu game, therefore the controls are probably about as responsive as the original d-pad on the SMS and no this game wasn't on the NES.

...And all that jazz.

Okay. So I'm giving this game 5 stars. Because of the game. The port is roughly as good as it can be, seeing as we're playing it on a touchscreen, rather than a NES. If you really want the full experience, then don't play a port. It's as simple as that. Go buy a NES.
However, if you want to experience a NES game without that much hassle, then I highly recommend this app. It's well put together, and the controls really aren't that bad, considering that it's a NES game being played on a 21st century touchscreen. ;) The gameplay is good( if a bit repetitive, at times), so go ahead and purchase this game!

A very good translation, I'm impressed. I have to agree with the other users, the screen need to be positioned so that the controls are in a letter box or something off the actual map itself. None the less for all the Sega fans, a very good way to remind you of back in the day.

A semi-classic returns

Like others here, I have fond memories of Golvellius from the Sega Master System. Essentially a Legend of Zelda clone (did this come first?) eith some side-scrolling stages thrown in. DotEmu has done a stellar job porting this game to iPhone and keeping my nostalgia riding high. The touch controls take some getting used to, but end up working pretty well. Wouldve preferred razor-sharp pixels to a slight blur filter, but it's not a deal-breaker. Great game, great port!

It is now more difficult to see the character. Cant u guys just add the option to shrink the screen and put your controls outside of it?

Lowered my review. I had been working on this save for a while.
