Works for me but not wife's phone

by MsPacMan4 · March 14, 2011

It is awesome and fairly accurate on my phone. I love it. But...it has stopped tracking data on my wife's phone. I hope mine keeps working.

Phone reboot issue

by jrwagz · March 26, 2011

I love this app and it works exactly as advertised.

The people who report that it stops tracking are experiencing that issue because the app needs to be ran after a phone reboot, otherwise it won't track your usage. Yes this is annoying and I hope they fix it. But the app still works as advertised.

Keep up the great updates!

Waste of money

Simply put...if a data app isn't accurate than it is useless. In other words, DataMan is useless. I wasted my money. Don't waste yours. It was fine the first day, today is the the seventh day and it is off by 500MB!

Good App

Brought this App because I need to run some test. Works well. It does what it says. No Issue, No Crash.
Few suggestions: Need "reset all" to reset data counts; possible to disable data thresholds alert; track specific data such as Tethering data. Would like to see an update soon. Keep up the good work.

Worked until the update

I just can't use it anymore. It worked well until early Jan and now it won't even track data in multi-pause. Try the free version to verify before you buy.

Inaccurate

It's a neat tool - when it works. It skips entire days without any apparent reason. I'm sure that can be fixed.

Great accuracy

Awesome! It just works! This is the Best data tracking app. DataMan is the most accurate tracking app. You can see your details every 10 minutes. You can't get more accurate than this!

For anyone complaining about battery, please read the instructions. You can turn off geotag and/or precise tracking to conserve battery life. Don't put down Dataman because you're not using it properly.

Plus, if you reboot your device, remember to open DataMan before and after the reboot. This ensures that your data usage is properly recorded.

Shows potential but not accurate...

I've got this app in Nov. of 2010, partly because of a dispute over data charges with AT&T. The app features are good, like setting limits on daily, weekly or monthly use, that helps a lot in controlling your usage, particularly when you are in a 200 meg plan. The ad prominently display the Geotag support. For me, that is a waste of time and every time I try to relate where I was when using the data, turns out a location where I've never been...

My main concern on this product is that the measurement of the data is erratic. At least it should coincide with the native usage meter on the iPhone and it doesn't. Is not a big gap, but it should be the same number. For example, I've got 20 meg of usage in the iPhone meter and only 8 on the DataMan. Sometimes the gap is greater, other times the number is the same. Is not consistent.

I think that an update is necessary for this app to really work as an accurate meter.
