Inability to setup a new device is poor

by PremmyNY · July 9, 2026

If I have an iCloud backup I should be able to restore quickly on an emergency device if my primary device is inaccessible

Impossible design

On the iPhone 16 it first displays the 6 digit code number to enter, but then it covers the number with an unmovable screen in the middle to enter the number previously shown!

Terrible

It says “open Authenticator and verify code” and it’s Authenticator that this message is in which is open????? What the heck??

Broken

An absurd amount of errors for such a well funded app

No backup capability

by feedbacker99 · July 9, 2026

Authenticator is a single point of failure. If I lose my phone I won’t be able to login to my accounts. Google’s app lets you use it on multiple phones.

When you get a new phone you have to sign in again, but the only way to sign in is using the Authenticator app, which you cant sign in to because they require approval through the app!!
