I have been using this app for two years. It has done what I wanted: keeping track of what books I have so that I don't purchase duplicates, and tracking who I loan books to. I have an extensive personal library. The bar code scanner has worked sufficiently. It doesn't like glossy covers, but I can live with that. I don't consider some manual entry to be the end of the world. I do not use Dropbox for back up, so I cannot speak to that. I have just emailed the backup file to a different computer with my own backup drive. I have had no trouble importing my emailed backup files. My biggest concern/problem has been with the recent 2.4 update. I can no longer manually enter a bar code. The app skips the input box and gives me a message that I haven't entered a barcode to look up. I tried to find a method for reporting the bug within the app and found that functionality missing. I hope this can be resolved quickly.

Barcode reader does not work

This app is crap.<br/><br/>Tried scanning ISBN codes on both iPad 2 and iPod Touch. It doesn't even see them.<br/><br/>Don't waste your money with these clowns. SHAME ON APPLE FOR APPROVING IT!

Started good, but now worthless

The app was ok when I first got it, but it never works now and the Dropbox feature is no longer supported. It's also hard to loan books with it. Ironic for a library app.

Getting there

This is, by far, the best looking &quot;library&quot; style app out there; and with only a few minor glitches it's certainly the best buy. I love the shelf look as well as it's ability to be viewed in landscape or portrait mode. The cover search option works like a dream, making it easy to get the exact cover I'm looking for. <br/><br/>What I don't like is twofold:<br/>First, the covers are displayed incorrectly. Instead of being tall and slender, or short and squat, they are all short; more like a cd's jewel case. This causes most covers to have parts cut off. NOW, this having been said, this problem could simply be user error. I may have a setting configured wrong (though I don't really believe this to be the case). <br/>Secondly, though there is a barcode scanner, I have yet to get it to work. I have used several other app's barcode scanners with great success, but this one is, in a word, defunct.<br/><br/>Overall, this is a good app, but unfortunately there are, for me, two blaring problems. In the end, I'm hopeful that the developers will fix these two issues.<br/><br/>UPDATE:<br/>I submitted a post on the developer's website, AND submitted an e-mail to the developers about the two issues over a month ago and have not received one iota of an answer. Others who have posted after me have responses, but the company seems to be avoiding these two issues. I love the app, but the service is atrocious. I have switched to another app (book crawler) and will not be using book keeper again.

Not what I thought.

I bought this app because of the line in the advertising that said I could import my entire Delicious Library from my desktop computer.. I thought WOW! Then I would have my entire book collection where ever I went and would know if I owned or had previously read something. While the basic app looks like it will do an adequate job of cataloging &quot;new&quot; books, the directions for importing a previously built library of books are so overwhelming and beyond my computer skills, that I'll never be able to use this app for the reason I purchased it. Plus I had to go to their website to even find out how to do the import. Until such time as that process is simplified, I won't be using or recommending this app.

Buggy

This program is going in the right direction, but needs work. It crashes often, doesn't always save edited book covers or edited books, and occasionally loses entries. The cover graphics for books from the online search are always bad and the titles selected from the online searches ( or even using the barcodes) don't bring in the plot summaries or other book information (such as release dates, etc.).
